Harvest Moon Strategy Guide

First Year

Spring

Monday, Day 1: This is the day where you must talk to everyone in town...so...just...do that...and don't forget to talk to the Florist and Livestock Dealer form BEHIND the counter and Nina in her room in the back of the Flower Shop..

Tuesday, Day 2: The first thing you need to do is fish or get cave herbs (Same price) Catch your first fish and throw it back (See Power Berry Loctaions) Then, fish again...take your second back to the bin...Then (If you have time) buy some Potato and Turnip (I suggest Potatoes) and come back home...On the way break the Chicken Statue with a hammer (See Power Berry Locations)...This is the hard part...CLEAR YOUR ENTIRE YARD (From Wierd Old Guy's Ultimate Harvest Moon Super Site, Strategy Guide #4)...Do it in this order...

1. Pull up weeds (10 minutes)
2. Throw small stones in pond (25 Minutes or so..maybe 10)
3. Chop Stumps up, go to hot springs when your stamina runs out
45 minutes, or 30)
4. Smash Big Stones, do the same if you run out of energy
(45 Minutes, or 30)
5. Fence the parameter of your yard, if you run out of wood,
go chop the stumps in the mountain (1 Hour, maybe 2!)
6. Make Five C-Shaped Fields, like this:

7. Plant the Grass the Livestock Dealer gave you..
This surprisingly takes up to 3 hours!

Wednesday-Friday, Day 3-5: Keep running up to the mountain daily, and if you're lucky you'll catch two fish a day, and buy Potato and Turnip seeds whenever possible (Buy both, because if you plant and ship 200 of each plant you'll get a better ending) Plant your crops and water them daily, pick them when they're ripe...Here's a list of this Season's crops' statistics:

XXXXXX Turnips Potatoes

$ Per Veggie         60 G                80 G
Havrests Per Season 7 5
Growing Time 4 Days 6 Days
Eigth Sq. Gross 480 G 640 G
Season Gross 3,360 G 3,200 G
Season Net 1,960 G 2,200 G

(Look for more graphs like this Here...)

Chop wood at night and mend your fences if they're broke (They don't break as easily on the parameter)

Saturday, Day 6: Today is Saturday and you can't buy anything...but don't let that stop you from making money...Do the same as the previous days...

Sunday, Day 7: Since Today is Sunday you should Fish! And when you catch them, DON'T, I repeat, DON'T put them in the bin..You'll only get 200 G per fish...Take them to the Peddler and you'll get 300 G per fish! Otherwise...do the same....

Monday-Friday, Day 8-12: Continue what you've been doing for the past week, but buying more grass and less seed...plant at least five squares of grass (From Wierd Old Guy's Ultimate Harvest Moon Super Site Guide #4>) and buy a chicken...Put your first egg in the equabator and sell your chicken after it hatches...continue to buy grass and seeds...

Saturday, Day 13: Do the same as last Saturday...

Sunday, Day 14: Do like last Sunday...

Monday, Day 15: Go see Big Foot! (Details here)

Tuesday-Saturday, Day 16-21: Do what you've been doing for the last two weeks, but try to save 2,000 or 3,000 dollars for the Flower Festival...I tried to save this much all month and ended up with 7,000 dollars!....If you got that much try to chop enough wood to enlarge your house or get a cow (I recomend enlargment, this way you can make sure you get a watch...See Secrets. You can get a cow the start of Summer)...

Sunday, Day 22: Do your normal thing, but talk to some of the people in town...

Monday, Day 23: The Day of the Flower Festival! Take care of your chickens and/or cows and head to the town...First make sure that you have enough for the Seed of the Snow Flower...And (if you plan on getting married, or have enough money and want to do this for fun) buy some perfume for a girl, this step one in marriage...Here's my list of Perfumes they like:

Maria: Blue
Ann: Blue
Ellen: Green
Nina: Green
Eve: Red
If these are wrong just reset the game and start your day over...Then E-mail me and tell me the correct one...Talk to everyone (Talk to the above girls twice) then talk to the Mayor's Wife next to the record player...she should move....then talk to the Mayor....Say "Let's Begin" and pick the girl you want to dance with...Then you'll go home and go to bed...

Tuesday, Day 24: If you already have a cow plant more grass and buy seed..if not, buy a cow and brush (I don't suggest this, though)

Wednesday-Saturday, Day 25-29: Do the routine stuff...Buy 5 bags of each seed for next year...

Sunday, Day 30: This is the last day...

Summer

Monday, Day 1: Run to the Flower Shop after feeding your animals and buy 3 bags of each plant, Tomatoes and Corn (Yes, there's a reason for not planting just all corn!) Plant your seeds (Only one bag of each every day) Here's the Plant's Stats:

XXXX Tomatoes Corn $ Per Veggie 100 G 120 G Harvests Per Season 7 6 Growing Time* 10 Days 13 Days Eight Sq. Gross 800 G 960 G Season Gross 5,600 G 5,760 G Season Net 5,300 G 5,460 G *=If you water it every day, it'll grow every 3 days but after the ten days...(ex: Your Tomato Plant grows in 10 days and the fruit comes with it...3 days later another batch of fruit grows...) (Look for more graphs like this Here...)

Tuesday-Friday, Day 2-4: Keep planting and watering your tomatoes and corn, getting extra bags when you run out...also feed your animals...go to the mountains and catch fish (Now worth 300 G!)

Saturday, Day 7: Stop buying seeds and keep watering them every day...

Sunday, Day 8: In 2 days your Tomato Plant from Day 1 will have grown...pick them...in 5 days your Corn'll be grown...Keep doing your normal stuff....

Monday-Saturday, Day 9-15: By now you've probably noticed why I had you buy seeds for six days straight, If not it's cause you make 10,000 G a week...WOW! Around this time the lighting will strike the tree (See Secrets) and you can get the Super Sickle...

Sunday, Day 16: You should now start choping wood every night (Or get it all in one night) to upgrade your house again...Otherwise do everything else normally...

Monday-Wednesday, Day 17-19: Pretty much..you should do things normal....If you have the wood upgrade your house and try to get another cow...or...your first...like...me....

Thursday, Day 20: Today you can buy the sprinkler!

Friday, Day 21: If you bought cows near the 30th of Spring they should be mature by now...go buy a Milker...

Saturday-Friday, Day 22-28: Do what you've been doing for the past season..

Saturday-Monday, Day 28-30: The last days to harvest Tomatoes and Corn..and the last for planting grass...make sure you have enough to cut and get fodder for Winter (I usually give them fodder in Spring, Summer, and Fall too....This's what brings my count down) just take how many animals you have X 60 and you'll get how much you'll need to feed them through Fall and Winter (ex. 2 Cows+3 Chickens X 60=300 Pieces)

Fall

Tuesday, Day 1: Today 1 of two things will happen, I don't know if it's random or what, but sometimes the little girl next to the Fortune Teller's Place will come by and ask for an egg...give her one....Other times a dwarf will be outside your door half dead...give him a mushroom and ONLY a mushroom.(See Secrets)..If the little girl does come, the dwarf will not be there...look for him tommarow...Since it's the first day of Fall (Or just...Fall in general) you can't plant....ANYTHING....Tend to your animals first and then go pick three poisonous mushrooms (You can make the most money in Fall off of these..) and go to bed...cut your grass if it can be cut...

Wednesday-Thursday, Day 2-10: Do what I pointed out in day one...

Friday, Day 11: Go to the summit and pick the FullMoon Berry, worth 600 G (Or 50 stamina, or a heart!)..If it's raining you can't get it!

Saturday, Day 12: The day of the Harvest Festival! Go get another FullMoon Berry (After you take care of your livestock, of course! Oh, there may be only one FullMoon Berry between 11-13, but I've got one all three days before!) and take it to the Festival..(Don't drop it!)..you'll get a Power Berry...

Sunday, Day 13: If my theory is right you'll be able to get another FullMoon Berry.

Saturday, Day 14: Maybe (If you have enough) you should use that hard earned FullMoon Berry Money on a cow!

Monday-Thursday, Day 15-19: Get ready for the egg hunt....and....do...your normal....weekday...things....

Friday, Day 20: EGG HUNT DAY! Feed your animals and head into town...I forgot what chests the eggs are in...but you should try your best to find them all...if you find them all you get a disaster-protectant egg! If you just win you get a Power Berry....if you lose you get nothing....To tell ya the truth, the disaster egg isn't all it's cracked up to be....I've had huricanes destroy my farm while having it....it doesn't work very good...

Saturday-Monday, Day 21-30: Do your normal things and cut as much grass as you can....

Winter

Tuesday-Thursday, Day 1-9: At the start of every day deal with your livestock, then head to the mountain and pick two Cave Herbs...Then come home and go to bed...

Friday, Day 10: The day of the Thanksgiving Festival, deal with the livestock, then go into town (If you plan on getting married) and talk to every girl...if one gives you a cake, that means she likes you...

Saturday-Wednesday, Day 11-16: You should stop getting (Only if you plan on getting married) Cave Herbs and give gifts to the girl you like...Between this time an Earthquake will occur and a carpenter will ask for your hammer (See Secrets

Thursday-Sunday, Day 17-22: Keep doing normally.

Monday, Day 23: Go into town and talk to every girl to see where they'll be going the day of the Star Festival...If you don't have time...Here's a list:

Ann Springs
Eve Bar
Maria Church
Nina Mountain
Ellen Town Square
(Note: These may be wrong)

Tuesday, Day 24: The day of the Star Festival..go to one of the above places (Just select it from the menu) and you're off!

Wednesday-Sunday, Day 25-29: Do your normal stuff, but if you're ready to get married go talk to the Peddlar on Sunday and he'll sell you the Blue Feather...

Monday, Day 30: Tommarow is New Year's Day...

Second Year

Spring

Tuesday, Day 1: Since today is New Year's Day you have no choice, but to go to the Summit and watch the sun rise...talk to everyone...then you'll go back home and go to bed.....your livestock will be normal the next day..

Wednesday, Day 2: Buy about ten bags of both potatoes and turnips...and plant one bag of each...if you got 5 bags of each last year...good for you...you've got more seed...Give 20,000 G to the hawker to get the cow-calling tree (See Secrets)...

Thursday-Sunday, Day 3-21: Every day plant one bag of each seed...if you run out, go buy more seed...(Remember your goal is to sell 200 of each vegitable)....you should make tons of money...so you should sell one of your cows to the hawker (See Secrets) and plant the beadstalk seed he gives you....

Monday, Day 22: Go into town right quick and talk to some people...Of course do your normal, everyday stuff, too!

Tuesday, Day 23: Your second Flower Festival! Since you'll probably have enough money this year....buy all three types of perfume...one at a time...and give each one to the girl that likes it...Since you probably don't want to look back at the chart...here it is:

Maria: Blue
Ann: Blue
Ellen: Green
Nina: Green
Eve: Red

Wednesday-Tuesday, Day 24-30: Keep doing what you've been doing for the past month and go buy some seed for next year...If you have lots of money, buy a few cows...untill you have 4 to 6.....never get more than 6 cows....you'll get bored...Prepare for next month...cause tons of money will roll in!

Summer
